Are you located in the centre of Bruges?

  • Yes we are located in a quiet part of the old city just minutes walk from the Market Square

How long should I stay?

  • 3 nights so you have 2 full days to see all sights and some museums and art galleries
  • Longer if you use Bruges as a base to visit Gent, Antwerpen or Brussels. We are also a good hub to go cycling (coast, forests, canals, small villages, …) Why not using our push/e-bikes...

Can I cancel my booking for free?

  • this depends on the rate plan and is clearly indicated when proceeding with the reservation.
  • if you book the non-refundable early bird rate than the creditcard is charged immediately with no possibility of a refund. Use an insurance in that case like Allianz Assistance (https://www.allianztravelinsurance.com/travel/trip-cancellation)

How do I get around?

  • Walking! In 30 min you walk from North till South
  • We rent bicycles in the summer to discover the countryside

Do you have a bar or restaurant?

  • We have a cosy lounge where you can have a drink (8am-9pm) and a breakfast restaurant where a free breakfast is served from 8am – 10am
  • Tom’s Diner, Oud Handbogenhof, Aperovino, De Schaar, Du Phare, Pieter Pourbus, Sint Joris, Duc de Bourgogne are fine restaurants just a few minutes walk from the hotel. It’s essential to book for weekends and during holidays.

Do you have wifi ?

  • Yes, we have free wifi in all rooms and common areas.

Is there free coffee and tea in the room?

  • Not in the room but you’ll find mugs, kettle and free coffee & tea at the reception 24/24
  • Our superior and comfort+ double has a kettle and fridge in the room!

Check in / out and left luggage?

  • Check in : from 1pm till 6pm. On Saturday, Sunday and holidays before 4pm. 
  • Check out : before 11am. We have a free left luggage service (if checked out before 11am). Check out after 11am only possible if agreed with reception. Late check out (after 11am) without notice (before 11am) can be charged with an additional night. 

Are families with children welcome?

  • We have a wonderfull family duplex which can take up to 4 persons. Children are welcome from the age of 12.

Do you take dogs?

  • Very sorry but we don't accept any pets small or big. A dog hotel can be arranged just outside the city.

Is there a lift/elevator?

  • We do have a lift/elevator. The hotel has 3 floors and the lift/elevator stops between the floors. Some 8 to 10 steps to take until the floor level. We always assist and show the room. B&B Bariseele has a room on the ground floor. (no wheelchair access)

Do the rooms have airconditioning?

  • We are close to the north sea and benefit from a mild maritime climate. Because of our quiet location you can sleep with the windows open (they have mosquito screens). 
  • From July 2020 we will have airconditioning in the rooms on the top floor, the family and the comfort double+ rooms so that, on the occasional warmer days, the rooms remain cool. All suites at Bariseele have airconditioning. The other rooms will be given a fan.

What is an ECO hotel?

  • We are just like any other hotel with comfy rooms, plenty of hot water and a good heating system. The only difference is that we use water, energy and waste reduction methods that offer you the same standard but let you use less without giving up on comfort. We follow the standards set by the EU ecolabel (BE/25/001 since 2009) and the Green Key
  • We also advise you how to get here and around eco friendly. The city is small and easy walking everywhere. For going outside we have bikes in season and discounted bus tickets.

Daytrips?

  • We recommend a day into Flanders Fields with Quasimodo www.quasimodo.be
  • A trip to the beach of Zeebrugge, the largest on the coast, or walking the forests with the historical castles South of Bruges.

Can we enter the city by car?

  • Yes! You can drive your car just until our front door. Be aware that you need to pay for parking on the street (9am-8pm) We do have private and secured parking (17 euros/day) but only a limited amount of spaces. Booking ahead is essential. 
  • Alternatively there is a free public parking about 10-15min walk at the police station (Louis Coiseaukaai) with multiple charging stations or a secured public parking at the train station from where you can take the bus or a taxi to the hotel.
  • There are 2 car charging facilities next to the hotel and we have 1 Tesla charger in our parking (to book with parking space, cost charging : € 0,50/kWh)

 

 

 
 
 

How to get here

ROUTE by car : (by train see below) 

follow : E40 CALAIS-VEURNE-GENT or E19 ANTWERPEN - GENT and/or E40 GENT - OOSTENDE or A1 PARIS -LILLE exit A27-E42 (dir. Brussels), exit A17-E403 KORTRIJK – BRUGGE

Exit 8 (on E40) Brugge (not from Paris/Lille, you just continue). Towards Brugge pass 5 tunnels. After the last tunnel and the railwaybridge take the exit N351 - Brugge Az St Jan .

Continue for Brugge. At the 2ND crossroads you TURN LEFT direction north (Guldenvlieslaan). (don't go into the tunnel!)

Pass 3 traffic lights. After the 3rd lights you follow the BUS lane. After, 600 m you turn right and immediately (don't go over the bridge!) right again into ’Walweinstraat’. Go straight ahead until the canal. Turn right. And take the 2nd street on your right (Annuntiatenstraat). Take 2nd on your left, Baliestraat. (you will see the sign for the hotel). Straight ahead and left around the St. Gillischurch. We are on the left handside. Address : COLLAERT MANSIONSTRAAT N° 3

Parking:

The entire city centre has become a paying parking zone. For your comfort we have secured private parking (limited spaces at 15 euros/day). If you would like to make use of this advantage, please let us know in advance. Free public parking 15 min walk from the hotel.

ROUTE by train

*Train station : BRUGGE (on the line to Oostende or Knokke/Blankenberge).  To plan your train travel to Bruges, please check www.belgianrail.be

*EUROSTAR travellers can now take the direct FLIXBUS from Lille Europe to Bruges without going via Brussels. www.flixbus.com

*From Brussels Airport : direct train every hour and it takes 90 min (check for track works!)

Please note Belgian rail has a rail pass with 10 rides and Seniors 65+ travel at a bargain.

From Brugge train station :

° you can take the BUS NUMBER 2 in front of the station runs every 10'. You can pay contactless on the bus by tapping your debet/creditcard each. Stay on the bus until the 3rd stop after the old Market Square, named 'Gouden Handstraat' (once you drive with the canal on you right ring the bell as soon as it has passed the curve to the left. The next stop is just passed the next bridge. Continue walking along the canal and take 1st street on your left 'St Gilliskoorstraat'.  At St Gillis church go right. The hotel is on your left. It takes 10-15min in total to get to the hotel. http://routebuilder.org/212u

ROUTE by coach:

*You can travel from different European cities on a budget with Eurolines or Flixbus towards Bruges Station

*From Brussels South Charleroi Airport : www.flibco.com 2 hour journey with direct bus towards Bruges station 

A TAXI from our BRUGGE train station costs between 10 and 15 euros. It takes 10-15min to get to the hotel.  In case there are no taxis at the station you can call 'Taxi Snel' 050 363 649

Airport Shuttle : If you like to travel hassle free why not using Taxi GB service  : https://www.gbservice.be
